Born in 1954 on the wet and snowy hills of North Vancouver, Craig Mahood came to sculpture by living a tactile life in the forests and on the beaches of the west coast.  The foundry and metal shop at the Vancouver School of Art were where he made his first contacts with the art world.  Working in construction launched forays into architectural design.  And living in open relationships with friends and lovers played the sex card.  Early on, the idea of incorporating sexual content with the practical objects of everyday life came to him.  The marriage of the three - sculpture, architecture, and sex - brought about his first installation, “FUNCTIONAL BATHROOM EROTICA.”  Craig Mahood has been working on this theme since then and continues to this day, creating new and exciting pieces for viewing and use.
